Two sporting personalities are among the quartet that the sports-loving governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike will honour on Tuesday.
They are Honour Sirawoo, the president of Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria and Chris Green, NFF two-term member and currently the chairman of Rivers State Football Association.
The two are among those the government considered to have done the state proud in several sectors.
Green, a former Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee and also former Member of the CAF Disciplinary Committee, will along with Sirawoo, Boma Erekosima and Jonathan Adagogo Green be decorated with the Governor’s Medal of Service by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
According to a media release from the Nigeria Football Federation, a dozen individuals, led by Prince Uche Secondus, will be honoured with the Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State, while one person will receive the Rivers State Merit Award.
The event will hold at the main bowl of the Alfred Diette-Spiff Civic Centre, Port Harcourt as from 4.30pm on Tuesday.
Green, a one-time secretary of the heart-throb of Rivers State ball fans, Sharks FC and who also served as the Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Rivers State, is a ranking Member of the NFF Executive Committee and currently Chairman of the Players’ Status Committee.
