Niger 2019: Nigeria-G/Bissau Draw 2-2

Nigeria's Flying Eagles, were on Saturday forced to a 2-2 draw by host Guinea Bissau in the 1st leg, 2019 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations 1st Rd qualifier in Bissau.

thenff.com reports say, the Flying Eagles dominated the 1st half and led 2-0 at the Cape Verdian referee’s whistle for the interval, thanks to a brace by Wasiu Alalade in the 15^th and 35^th minutes.

But, the hosts returned in the 2nd half super-charged, and returned the 2 goals.

Head Coach Paul Aigbogun blamed his boys for losing concentration in the second period, but expressed confidence that the seven-time African champions will do the job in the concluding encounter in Nigeria at the U.J Esuene Stadium, Calabar on Saturday, 19^th May 2018.

The winner on aggregate will meet winner of the Guinea/Mauritania encounter.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has expressed appreciation to the Ambassador of Nigeria to Guinea Bissau, His Excellency Adeyemi Ambrose Afolahan who treated players and officials to a welcome dinner in Bissau on Friday.

The Commander of the Nigerian contingent and deputy force commander of the ECOWAS Mission in Guinea Bissau, Colonel Taye Ahmed, also visited the Flying Eagles.
