Jennifer Lopez gets emotional as she announces Shades Of Blue will end after season three

Jennifer Lopez's cop show Shades Of Blue will not return after season three.

The 48-year-old superstar shared the news with a heartfelt statement on Wednesday.

The last 10 episodes of the drama, which also stars GoodFellas actor Ray Liotta and Sopranos vet Drea de Matteo, will air beginning on June 17 on NBC.Lopez's announcement was long and personal.

'I have enjoyed producing and starring in this beautifully complicated world and playing such an empowering yet flawed character — a woman, a detective, but, first and foremost, a mother,' said the siren.                                                                                                                     

 Now looking at it with a little distance, playing Harlee strengthened me and helped me grow into a more self-assured woman.'

The Bronx native added: 'It's crazy how some parts permeate your soul and change you forever and for that I am grateful.'

The Ni Tu Ni Yo singer then said: 'We crafted a poetic three-season arc on how her journey ends, which is true redemption.'

The Las Vegas performer continued: 'The way only Harlee could have done it — the hard way, the road less traveled.

'I thank NBC and all the talented actors, writers, crew and producers for going on this journey with us!'

Jennifer not only starred on the show, she was also a producer.

The Amor Amor Amor singer also produces and stars on the reality TV show World Of Dance with Jenna Dewan and Derek Hough.

In November, the beauty's film Second Act with Leah Remini and Vanessa Hudgens, will be released.

'When a big-box store employee reinvents her life and her lifestyle, she gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as a college degree, and it's never too late for a second act,' is the film's synopsis.

The beauty raises twins Max and Emme, aged eight. Her boyfriend if former Yankees baseball player Alex Rodriguez.
