Nigeria is yet to appear on the medals table after day 4 of the Commonweslth Games 2018 at the Gold Coast in Australia.
However two men may be closer to medals in the 100metres event.
19year old Enoch Adegoke first brought the Nigeria a ray of hope when he won his semifinal in 10.26secs, to scale into the final. Joining him in Monday's final is an old hand Seye Ogunlewe who qualified with 10.20secs as one of the fastest losers. The two Nigerians have South africa's Akanni Simbine and favourite Yohan Blake of Jamaica who had stayed in the shadows of legendary Usain Bolts.
In the women's 100 metres final also coming up on Monday, it is clear that Commonwealth Record holder Blessing Okagbare will not be defending the crown she won four years ago in Glasgow. She did not feature in this event hence a new champion must be crowned on Monday. Three other Nigerians could not go past the semifinals stage.
