Massimiliano Allegri is heading to Chelsea to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea, according to a report.
The Juventus coach has admitted his time in Turin is up and he will move away from Italy in the summer to pursue his coaching career.
Although he was tight-lipped on exactly where his next move would be Allegri has said intends to move abroad.
“Certainly I will go abroad,” Allegri told The Telegraph. “In Italy, finished.”
And The Sun claim “he is all set to step in when fellow Italian Antonio Conte is sacked by Chelsea this summer”.
Arsenal and Chelsea are both claimed to be interested in the “instinctive” coach and the report claims Chelsea will try and get the 50-year-old Livorno-born boss in at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is believed to be unhappy that the club look set to miss out on Champions League qualification but is reluctant to sack manager Conte.
The Blues are in fifth place, but are eight points behind fourth-placed Tottenham after Spurs’ 3-1 home defeat to Mauricio Pochettino’s men on Sunday.
Conte has one year left on his contract, worth around £9.5millin and the Daily Express report that Abramovich is unwilling to write off that sum.
Allegri though remains a credible target to replace Conte as he aims to win a fourth consecutive Serie A title with the Bianconeri.
“I could never be a coach who mainly focuses on tactics or analytics because I am more instinctive,” added Allegri.
“The coach, in my opinion, bases his decisions on sensations, on perceptions.
“Otherwise it would be enough to sit in front of the computer and football would be like a PlayStation. And that is not what I am.
“In football there are a lot of people who try to reach perfection with figures, with tactics but it’s impossible because there are too many variables.”
