Fiba Africa Coaching Course

Dateline, Abidjan.
Over thirty basketball coaching instructors from all corners of Africa have taken part in a three-day (March 26-28) FIBA Coaching Programme in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.
Supervised by Australian Michael Haynes and FIBA Africa Coaches Council Chairman Habib Cherif, the workshop offered participants a pilot course aiming to maximize Instructors' coaching skills. It followed the release of the World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) coaching manuals in 2016 .
"We thank FIBA Africa for the opportunity. And I hope that participants can conduct coaching levels 1, 2 and 3 courses, which was a central part of this workshop," he added.
Haynes added: ''This workshop was an opportunity to review the participants’ skills. I really appreciated their passion for the game and the understanding of some of the issues in teaching. Their understanding of how people learn and coach the juniors and seniors."
The workshop included a number of modules delivered in both theory and practical components including sessions on Facilitating Learning, Group Dynamics, Assessment Competencies, Administration & Logistics and WABC Knowledge and Course Structure.
