Breaking: Court grants Maryam Sanda bail

Breaking: Court grants Maryam Sanda bail
- Maryam Sanda accused of killing her husband has been granted bail by a court

- Sanda was granted bail on health ground after telling the court she is pregnant

Maryam Sanda, a woman standing trial for allegedly killing her husband, Bilyamin Bello, has been granted bail by the Federal Capital Territory High Court on Wednesday, March 7. Sanda was granted bail by judge, Yusuf Halilu, on health grounds after telling the court she is pregnant and needed adequate medical attentions, Premium Times reports.

An FCT court had earlier struck out an application for bail by Sanda, daughter-in-law of former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s chairman, Haliru Bello. It was the second time Sanda's request was declined after a previous request for bail made by Sanda’s lawyer, Joseph Daudu, had been refused in December.

It was previously reported that the CCTV footage in the residence of Bilyamin Bello, the son of a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman who was allegedly stabbed by his wife, Maryam Sanda, has been obtained by the Abuja police command.

The command has also arrested three private security guards who were stationed at the premises when the alleged stabbing of Bello occurred, The Punch reports.

An anonymous police source, who confirmed the retrieval of the CCTV footage, indicated that the clips show the last moments the deceased.
